Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park is one of the most popular travel destinations in Rwanda that is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Named after the highest peaked volcano located in the area, the park features incredible geographical excellence adorned with grasslands, swamps, bamboo forests, and crater lakes.

    One of the major activities offered at this national park is tracking the mountain gorillas with the help of park rangers. Having a glimpse of the rare golden monkeys, and hearing birds chirping are some of the added benefits of laying a visit to this park.

    The Musabza Caves and the Buhanga Eco-Park are some other tourist spots in the area where one can enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful view from a whole new perspective. To experience it all, one can choose to hike, enjoy a canoe ride, or opt for mountain biking. One point to be noted here, the Volcanoes National Park has a fixed number of visitors per day, therefore, you need to collect the permit in advance.
